According to research published in the May 2011 issue of the Journal of Trace Elements in Medicine and Biology, the chromium found in brewer's yeast can reduce glucose and cholesterol levels. The researchers found that diabetic patients who consumed brewer's yeast over a three-month period demonstrated dramatically reduced levels of glucose, total cholesterol, and 'bad' LDL cholesterol.

An exfoliating face mask can be made with brewer's yeast powder. Just add rose water and onager oil. Apply the mask on the face, leave it on for thirty minutes and rinse. Repeat the operation every day for a week.

The brewer's yeast it is also widely used in the preparation of beauty masks in case of oily skin and as an anti-wrinkle. Here is an example of preparation and application.

Preparation: mix 1 teaspoon of brewer's yeast powder with a little natural yogurt, in order to obtain a fluid and homogeneous cream.
Application: distribute the mixture on the face, tapping the entire face with your fingers excluding the lips and eye area. Let it sit for 20 minutes then rinse your face with warm water until the mixture is completely eliminated. Finally, pass a cotton ball soaked in rose water.

Brewer's yeast: dosage

The brewer's yeast in powder or flakes can be added to food every day to the extent of 2-3 tablespoons per day. If you don't like the taste mixed with food, you can consume the same dose in a little warm water to drink in the morning or in the evening. The water can be replaced with green tea or black tea. Brewer's yeast can also be added to pasta dishes, salads and side dishes when serving.

The brewer's yeast in tablets and capsules is ideal to promote hair growth, to strengthen the nails and to improve the skin of the body and face. The ideal dose is a daily amount of 4-10 g.
