Some Uses of Vegetable Glycerol

Used in cosmetic and topical applications, vegetable glycerin is an excellent moisturizer with nourishing properties.

For a smooth, fluffy body lotion, for example, you can start by placing 142g of shea butter in a heat-proof container and then place the container in a double container. Next, heat the shea butter over low heat until it melts. To this, add 2 tablespoons of coconut oil and 1 tablespoon of Jojoba oil and mix the ingredients to ensure complete blending.

Subsequently, put the entire container in the freezer for 10 minutes, during which a crust should form over the mixture. After removing the container, whip the mixture with an electric blender while slowly pouring in 1 tablespoon of vegetable glycerin.

Continue whisking the mixture until it appears dull and stiffer in its consistency. At this point, you can proceed with incorporating 1 tablespoon of corn starch into the mixture, adding it in quarter tablespoons at a time and continuing to whip the shea butter after each addition. Next, add a quarter of a teaspoon of liquid vitamin E and 4-6 drops of a favorite essential oil.

About essential oils, if you have no particular ideas, we suggest you try cedar wood, lavender, incense and ylang ylang for a greater soothing, balancing, clarifying and repairing action. With a spoon, transfer the whipped shea butter lotion into a clean glass jar with an airtight cap. This moisturizer can be used immediately and retains its optimal skin health benefits for 4 - 6 months.

If you finally want a facial cleanser which not only cleanses, but moisturizes and softens the skin, and also gives off a pleasant scent, you can combine 4 tablespoons of raw honey, 2 tablespoons of vegetable glycerin, half a cup of freshly brewed green tea and a total of 10 drops of the following essential oils (such as geranium, lemon and patchouli).

Using a blender, mix all the ingredients thoroughly, then store the resulting product in a container.
